    Ginger——to promote perspire and bring down the fever

What's more, it is also effective for the treatment of vomiting, joint muscle pain, dysentery, and so on. Modern pharmacological research also has found out that, pepper has some anesthetic and analgesic effect, and can inhibit the growth of various bacilli and cocci. However, those who suffer from bronchial asthma, diabetes and gout, or pregnant women should not eat pepper.

    Onion——to prevent atherosclerosis
    Onion contains various kinds of nutrients, such as protein, sugar, crude fiber, selenium, thiamin, riboflavin, prostaglandin A, amino acids and so on. Its volatile oil contains some substance——diallyl disulfide, which can lower the level of cholesterol. What's more, onion also has the effect of clearing away heat, eliminating phlegm, lowering blood sugar, promoting digestion, preventing colds, and so on. And it can also prevent and treat atherosclerosis disease and has an anti-cancer effect. However, people with eye diseases or fever should not eat onion.
