  • Some Tips for Drinking Water in Summer
  • In the hot summer, as more sweat is expelled out from our body, people need to drink much more water every day. However, there are some points you should pay attention to when drinking water in summer.

Firstly, do drink water regular; do not drink water only when you feel thirsty.
When you feel extremely thirsty and want to drink water, it means that the organs of your body have been running in an extreme situation, and your body is exceedingly lack of water. So it is best to form the habit of drinking water regularly. Generally speaking, when you have brushed your teeth after getting up in the morning, you'd better drink the first glass of water. Then at 10:00 am, drink the second glass of water and another glass before lunch. One more glass of water is needed at 3 pm. What's more, don't forget to drink the last glass of water before you go to sleep.

Secondly, do drink boiling water; do not drink unboiled water.
On the one hand, boiling water can evaporate the chlorine and some harmful substances in the water; while on the other hand, it can retain the nutrients in the water which are essential to human body. There are a lot of harmful effects brought by drinking unboiled water. As the chlorine in tap water can interact with some residual organic substances in the unboiled water, it can lead to bladder cancer, colorectal cancer and so on.

Thirdly, do drink fresh water; do not drink the water placed too long.
Fresh water is not only sterile, but also contains a variety of minerals needed by the body. However, if you keep drinking water which has been placed too long, it can not provide you with necessary minerals, and even may bring some harmful effects to your health.

Fourthly, do drink warm salty water; do not drink ice water.
In hot summer days, many people choose to drink ice water or cold drink after they sweat a lot. In fact, such a habit is unscientific. Although it will bring you temporary comfort and coolness, however, drinking a lot ice water will lead to the poor venting of sweat pores, and the body will have difficulties in heat dissipation. As a result, more heat will be accumulated in the body, which can easily cause heat stroke. The correct way is to add a little salt in the water, so as to supplement the lost salt and water to the body.
