 The Symptoms of Diabetes
  • The Symptoms of Diabetes
  • Diabetes is syndrome of a series metabolism disorders in sugar, protein, fat, water and electrolyte. It is caused by the dysfunction of pancreas islet and the decreasing of insulin resistance. In some typical cases, there are some common symptoms such as polyphagia, polydipsia, polyuria, weight loss and so on.

    First, polyphagia:
Because of the great loss of urine sugar, such as the daily loss of more than 500 grams of sugar, the body will be in a semi-starvation state. Lack of energy will stimulate the appetite and make people eat too much food. At the same time, the high level of blood glucose will stimulate insulin secretion, and thus the patient will be easy to feel hunger and have a good appetite. No matter how much they eat, they will never feel satiate. They even eat five or six times a day, with 1 to 1.5 kg of staple food. However, it still can not meet their appetite.

    Second, polyuria:
For diabetes patients, their urine output is increased, with 3,000 to 5,000 ml every day and night. Their urination frequency is also increased. They may urinate every one or two hour, and some patients even may urinate 30 times every day and night. For diabetes patients, their glucose concentration is increased and can not be fully utilized by the body. So it will result in the formation of osmotic diuresis and polyuria. The higher the blood sugar is, the more the urine sugar is discharged, which means more urine output.

    Third, polydipsia:
Excessive urination and water loss will cause dehydration of the cells. Then it will stimulate the thirst center in human body, and lead to frequent thirst and polydipsia, and the water intake and drinking frequency are also increased, so as to supplement water content. More urination means drinking more water.

    Fourth, weight loss:
Due to the lack of insulin, the body can not make full use of glucose, so it can only accelerate the decomposition of fat and protein so as to supplement the energy and calorie. The result is that the carbohydrates, fats and proteins in the body will be consumed greatly. What's more, with the loss of water, the patients will suffer from weight loss and emaciation, fatigue and weak, lack of energy, and so on.

Diabetes is caused by a variety of pathopoiesia factors, such as genetic factors, immune disorders, microbial infections and toxins, free radical toxins, psychological factors and so on. I think that from the above passage, we must have got basic knowledge of the symptoms of diabetes.
