Based on the decarboxylative ring opening of 3-carboxyisoxazoles a new reaction sequence for the introduction of cyano groups on ketone 1 a is described.The isoxazoles 4 and 5 have been obtained by the cycloaddition of carboethoxyformonitrile oxide with enamines 2 a /3 a and removal of the morpholine ring by Cope elimination.The semibullvalenes 7 and 8 were prepared.
