Epoxidation of vitamin D₃ with MCPBA yields exclusively the 7,8-monooxirane.Its 7R,8R stereochemistry was established by X-ray analysis of the PTAD-adduct-derivative.This result corrects the stereochemical assignment in a previous publication.
