The syntheses and spectroscopic data of 10 compounds of the type cis-(phenyl)<4-(trimethylsilyl)phenyl>bis(triphenylphosphane)platinum(II) with sibstituents of increasing acceptor character at the platinum-bonded phenyl rings are reported.
