α-Alkoxyorganocuprate reagents have been prepared from α-alkoxyorganostannanes.The cuprates undergo diastereoselective conjugate addition reactions with cyclohexenone with up to 8:92 selectivity.The effects of trimethylsilyl chloride on the chemical yields and the diastereoselectivity of the reaction are described.
