The Reaction of Cobalt(III) Porphyrins with α-Diazo-β-Dicarbonyl Compounds

Cobalt(III) porphyrins reacted with α-diazo-β-dicarbonyl compounds to give N,Co-methano bridged Co(III) porphyrins in good yields.The axial ligand and the peripheral substituents have great influence on the insertion of the carbenes and on the subsequent transformation to Co(III) N-alkylporphyrins with a linkage.
