(9) Obora and Ishii report an iridium-catalyzed C−C coupling of 1-
aryl-1-propynes with primary alcohols to furnish racemic products of
carbonyl α-(aryl)allylation. Deuterium labeling studies were not
performed; however, related products are formed in iridium- and
ruthenium-catalyzed C−C couplings of primary alcohols with allenes,
where pathways involving allene hydrometalation have been
