High-pressure (4+2)cycloaddition of 1-methoxybuta-1,3-diene (1) to three representative sugar aldehydes 3, 4, and 5 in the presence and without Eu(fod)3 was studied.The effects of pressure and catalyst on asymmetric induction were examined.Stereochemical models were used for interpretation of the results.
