The addition of functionalized allylic zinc bromides of type 3 to alkenyllithium or -magnesium derivatives is always regiospecific and shows a high diastereoselectivity; it furnishes functionalyzed gem-dimetallic compounds or a 2-vinylcyclopropylzinc bromide which can be allylated or stannylated.
