The reaction of silver trifluoromethanesulfonate 2 with zinc bis 4 and 2,4,6-triisopropylbenzenethiol 5 in a 4:4:6 ratio yields the mixed metal thiolate complex 3 with a twelve-membered silver-zinc-sulfur ring bridged by two trifluoromethanesulfonate anions; compound 3 is remarkably stable in solution.
