Structure of lobelinin A and B obtained from bluish violet petals of Lobelia erinus have been determinated to be 3-coumarylrutinosyl-5-malonyl-glucosyl-3',5'-di(caffeylglucosyl)delphinidin and 3-coumarylrutinosyl-5-malonylglucosyl-3'-caffeylglucosyl-5'-ferulylglucosyldelphinidin.These pigments are stable in neutral aqueous solutions possibly by intramolecular sandwich type stacking.
