The cluster complex (thioketene)Fe2(CO)6 (2) reacts with ARPHOS (5) to give the adduct (thioketene)Fe2(CO)6(arphos) (7).In solution complex 7 very slowly cleaves CO to form the compound (thioketene)Fe2(CO)5 (arphos) (8).Heating or irradiation of 8 yields a dinuclear complex (thioketene)2Fe2(CO)4(arphos) (9) having two thioketene ligands in the molecule.Reaction of the cluster 2 with DIARS (6) gives the complex (thioketene)Fe2(CO)5 (diars) (13).The crystal structures of 7 and 13 have been determined by X-ray diffraction.
