Ring-fused 1,2-dithiolylium or isothiazolium salts were obtained by substitution of a sulphur atom for the grouping (R2NCS2Pd) in various cyclopalladated complexes derived from ligands (LH) containing Ar-C=S or Ar-C=N- substructures.This process was accomplished by reaction of the complexes with: (a), thiocyanogen (yielding an intermediate metal-free thiocyanatocompound) followed by perchloric acid, or (b), morpholine-N-sulphenyl chloride.
