Fluorinated diisocyanates of the general structure OCN(CH2)2(CF2)n(CH2)2NCO were prepared from α,ω-diiodoperfluoroalkenes by insertion of ethylene into the CF3-I bond, displacement of the iodo groups with azide, reduction of the resulting azide groups to amines, phosgenation of the diamine.
