N,N-Dimethyl-3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)aniline (I) is metalated by n-butyllithium in n-hexane and methyllithium in diethyl ether at the 2- and 4-position, respectively.Subsequent reaction with PCl3 gives the aryldichlorophosphanes III.
