Reactions of tropone derivatives with 4,5-bis(benzoylthio)-1,3-dithiole-2-thione (2,3,6-trithiafulvene derivative) afforded 1,3,5-cycloheptatriene derivatives doubly substituted by trithiafulvene and S-S groups (10aH-cyclohepta-1,3-dithiolo<1,2>dithiin-2-thione).The structure of the 1,3,5-cycloheptatriene derivative and its crystal structure were investigated by single crystal X-ray analysis to show the existence of a unique three-dimensional network of the molecules through S...S contacts.
