An effective method is proposed for the production of the N,S-acetals of diacylketenes and acyl(alkoxycarbonyl)ketenes, based on the addition of methylene-active β-diketones and β-ketoesters to alkyl and aryl thiocyanates catalyzed by Ni(2+) acetylacetona
