The oxidation of (diphenylethenylidene)cyclopropanes and (dialkylethenylidene)cyclopropanes with m-chloroperbenzoic acid gave respectively 2-(diphenylethylidene)cyclobutan-1-ones and cyclopropyl keto esters with high selectivity.
