A convenient method for the initiation by oxygen of homolytic reactions of tetrahydrofuran with trimethyl-, triethyl, and triethoxy(vinyl)silane is proposed.Previously undescribed organosilicon derivatives of 1,4-dioxane and dibutyl ether were synthesized.
