The addition of methyl α-bromohippurate to PtMe₂(bipy) gives the α-metallated amlno add derivative (bipy)Me₂{Br)PtC(H)(NHCOPh)(CO₂Me) as a mixture of isomere la, b of which the Irans adduct la was characterized by X-ray diffraction. Methyl α-bromohippurate and JV-Boc-O-to-sylserine methyl ester are added to [Co(py)(DH)]^- (DH= dimethylglyoxime, diphenylglyoxime) to give cobalt(III) complexes 2-5 with a cobalt-carbon bond.
