An enantioselective synthesis of cyclopentyl-l-aspartic acid amenable to large scale

A new enantioselective synthesis of cyclopentyl-L-aspartic acid [(S)α-amino-1-(carboxy)cyclopentaneacetic acid] (1) and its N-Boc derivative 2 has been developed. This synthesis is amenable to kilogram scale preparation and avoids low temperature reactions and column chromatography.
