Direct evidence for the formation of tetraphenyl sulfurane was presented in the reactions of triphenylsulfonium hexafluorophosphate and diphenyl sulfoxide with phenyllithium by ¹H, ¹³C, and CH-COSY NMR studies at low temperature.
