A series of N-(N′-substituted carbamoyl)-4-diphenylphosphino-2-diphenylphosphinomethylpyrrolidines (CAPP) was prepared, which exhibited excellent stereoselectivity in the asymmetric hydrogenation of α-acetamidocinnamic acid derivatives and itaconic acid as chiral ligand of the rhodium(I) catalyst.
