The new complexes trans,mer-Mo(N2)2(NC5H4-4-R)(PMePh2)3, R = H, Me lose dinitrogen in vacuo at 25 deg C in arene solvents to give Mo(η⁶-NC5H4R)(PMePh2)3, the first stable η⁶-pyridine complexes of molybdenum.
