The fluorescence of furanoxy radicals in fluid solutions was characterized by measuring emission spectra and lifetimes in addition to estimating quantum yields.The fluorescence was then used to monitor the transfer of energy from various triplet states to the furanoxy radicals.It was found that triplet-doublet energy transfer occurs easily whenever the process is exothermic.
