In this paper, we reported the wrong description for the hydrogenation
of 4. We confirmed quantitative formation of 1 by the H NMR
1
analysis of the residual solid, which was obtained by the removal of the
solvent. However, we overlooked the generation of N-benzylidene-
benzylamine owing to its small content. We reinvestigated the reaction
and analyzed the reaction solution by GC, which showed the
formation of a considerable amount of N-benzylidenebenzylamine in
addition to benzylamine. We correct the description of the
hydrogenation of 4 as shown ineq 4.
