Rapid reductions of NO to N2O by CO can be achieved at ambient temperature in aqueous solution containing K2PtCl4, CuCl, CuCl2, HCl, and LiCl: the average rates for the N2O and CO2 evolution are 30.5 and 38.1 turnovers per hour over the first 10 hours.
