About the Authors
Dr. S. Niksa (corresponding author: e-mail: neasteve@
pacbell.net) is an international consultant specializing in pre-
dictive simulation capabilities for emissions of NOx, unburned
carbon, alkali vapors, trace metals, and air toxics from coal-
fired boilers. N. Fujiwara, research engineer, is the project
manager and leader of the testing team for the Coal Research
Laboratories at Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. The testing team
consisted of Y. Fujita and K. Tomura, who are engineers at
Idemitsu Kosan, and T. Tuji and S. Takasu, who are graduate
students in the Environmental and Renewable Energy Sys-
tems (ERES) Program at Gifu University. Professor H. Moritomi
is a director of the ERES program at Gifu University.
