Poly [Vinyl (Pyridinium Fluorochromate)] is a new reagent for the selective oxidation of primary and secondary alcohols under mild conditions. It also oxidises aromatic and α,β - unsaturated alcohols to the corresponding aldehydes and ketones in good yield.
