Molybdenum oxadiene catalysts for the chemoselective hydrosilylation of α,β-unsaturated ketones and aldehydes

Carbonyl molybdenum and tungsten oxadiene complexes exhibit high catalytic activity in hydrosilation of unsaturated ketones and aldehydes, even those geometrically fixed in s-trans-arrangement, using PhSiH₃ and Ph₂SiH₂. In the case of 4-phenylbut-3-en-2-one as substrate, variable chemoselectivity is observed depending on the specific catalyst employed.
