Elevated pressures (up to 6000 atm) significantly accelerate the asymmetric reduction of prochiral ketones with B-3-pinanyl-9-borabicyclo<3.3.1>nonane while suppressing the competing dehydroboration-reduction process.In selected cases enantiomeric efficiencies approaching 100percent may now be achieved.
