Magnetic susceptibility measurements are reported on single-crystal specimens of Pr//2NiO//4// plus // delta and Nd//2NiO//4// plus //67 as a function of oxygen nonstoichiometry, delta . Although only minor deviations from the Curie-Weiss law are observed for severely nonstoichiometric samples, both Pr//2NiO//4// plus // delta and Nd//2NiO//4// plus // delta exhibit evidence of long-range magnetic order as delta becomes small. Nd//2NiO//4// plus // delta decomposes to form Nd//2O//3 and NiO under sufficiently reducing conditions.
