Chromium hexacarbonyl reacts with under nitrogen in refluxing toluene to give with deposition of mercury.This easily oxidised compound was not isolated but work up of the reaction products in air gave .Reaction of with under the same conditions goes through a series of reactions leading to the isolation of Mo^VO(S2CNEt2)3.
