Reactions of alkoxymethyl substituted styrene derivatives with a stoichiometric and/or catalytic amount of zirconocene-(1-butene) complex ('Cp₂Zr') causes an unexpected zirconocene insertion into benzylic position and/or homolytic coupling reaction of the styrene derivatives.
