The following conclusions were deduced from the
analysis of PCDD/F emitted during combustion of RDF
and RDF±urea mixtures:
1. Urea addition to the fuel prior to combustion was ef-
fective in reducing the PCDD/F I-TEQ concentration
in the ¯ue gases, from 17 ng/g RDF to lower than 8
ng/g RDF.

2. The PCDD/F preventing capacity of urea was inde-
pendent from the method of urea addition to the fuel.
Similar results were obtained after the addition of the
urea in the solid and in the water phases.
3. PCA showed that isomer patterns were not aected
by experimental conditions, i.e., by the combustion
of fuels with and without the addition of urea as an
inhibitor.
