Preparation and cardiovascular actions of a group of tetrahydroisoquinoline derivatives

The authors prepared a series of N (alkylthioalkyl) tetrahydroisoquinolines and their sulfinyl and sulfonyl derivatives and have found particularly the ethyl X propyl analogs, where X = thio, sulfinyl, and sulfonyl, to produce distinctive and interesting hemodynamic effects in dogs apparently mediated by adrenergic mechanisms.
