The title compound, C₁₂H₁₈N₂O, was obtained by the reaction of 2-chloro-3-(N,N-dimethylcarbamoyl)pyridine with tert-butylmagnesium chloride. The structure was confirmed by NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography.
