increase in the CAC values was observed which is due to
the presence of organic additives that make the interactions
between the mixed solvents and alkyl chain of ionic liquid
much stronger. This disfavors the formation of IL aggre-
gates. The other thermodynamic and surface-active
parameters also favor the above mentioned interactions.
This investigation shows the pivotal role of different
alcohols in modulating the aggregation properties of sur-
factant like IL. The main picture of the work is that the
alkyl chain of the IL can be better dissolved by the aqueous
organic solvents than water resulting in the increase in the
CAC of the IL, which would serve for tremendous potential
applications of SAIL.
