jection dosage necessary to achieve routine implantation
in 50% of the animals, which allows detection of both
increases and decreases of implantation. This model is

This experiment lends credibility to the hypothesis that
direct implantation is involved in the process of port-site
recurrence and proves that topical povidine-iodinecan re-
duce these recurrences. Because this agent is well toler-
ated, with minimal risk, it would seem reasonable to em-
ploy this treatment as a standard in the management
of port sites after the laparoscopic resection of colon
cancer.
