The adsorption of H2S on some transition metal exchanged zeolites: an infrared study

The interaction of H2S with partially Cu(2+), Ni(2+), Zn(2+), Mn(2+) and Co(2+) exchanged type A zeolites was studied.In the cases of NiNaA and CuNaA no bands were observed which could be identified with adsorbed species.For ZnNaA and MnNaA species arising from both dissociative and non-dissociative adsorption were observed.H2S was found to be non-dissociatively adsorbed onto CoNaA.Water formation was observed on adsorption of H2S onto the Mn, Zn and Co exchanged forms.
