A newly discovered toxin, gonyautoxin-VIII, and two previously reported toxins, gonyautoxin-V and -VI, have been found to have carbamoyl N-sulfate conjugation. The exceptionally low toxic nature of the derivatives seems to support the hypothesis that the toxins interact on the surface of excitable membranes.
