Once the ynolate anion is generated, it can be reacted with a silylating reagent, usually a silyl chloride or silyl triflate, to introduce a silyl group (often trimethylsilyl, TMS) at the oxygen atom of the ester moiety. This silylation step results in the formation of the ynol silyl ether.
