Production
Zinc Gluconate (CAS NO.4468-02-4) is found naturally, and is industrially manufactured by the fermentation of glucose, typically by Aspergillus niger, but also by other fungi or Penicillium, or by bacteria, or Acetobacter, Pseudomonas and Gluconobacter. It can also be manufactured by electrolytic oxidation, which is although a more expensive process.
