Crystal structure, DNA-binding ability and cytotoxic activity of platinum(II) 2,2′-dipyridylamine complexes
Tu, Chao,Wu, Xuefeng,Liu, Qin,Wang, Xiaoyong,Xu, Qiang,Guo, Zijian
, p. 95 - 102 (2004)
Two platinum(II) complexes, [Pt(dpa)Cl2] (1) and [Pt(dpa)CBDCA] (2), where DPA=2,2′-dipyridylamine and CBDCA=1,1-cyclobutanedicarboxylate, were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, ES-MS and X-ray diffraction. Intermolecular hydrogen bonds were observed in both complexes (N-H?Cl for complex 1 and N-H?O for complex 2), which may play a role in formation of hydrogen bonding in metal-DNA adducts. Complex 2 adopts a boat conformation so that the cyclobutane ring and bipyridyl groups are on the same side of the platinum square. The interactions of complexes 1 and 2 with DNA were studied by UV and Fluorescence Spectroscopy, which indicated that both complexes could interact with DNA through groove binding or intercalation. The in vitro cytotoxic activity against melanoma B16-BL6 cells and human Jurkat T-cells was also reported.
New platinum(II) and palladium(II) quinoline-imine-pyridine, quinoline-imine-thiazole and quinoline-imine-imidazole complexes by metal-assisted condensation reactions
Bortoluzzi, Marco,Paolucci, Gino,Pitteri, Bruno,Zennaro, Piero,Bertolasi, Valerio
, p. 2565 - 2575 (2011/06/26)
Pt(II) and Pd(II) methyl- and chloro-complexes with the tridentate N-donor ligands ((pyridin-2-yl)methylene)quinolin-8-amine (NNPy), ((pyridin-2-yl) ethylidene)quinolin-8-yl-amine (NNMePy), (phenyl(pyridin-2-yl)methylene) quinolin-8-yl-amine (NNPhPy), ((thiazol-2-yl)methylene)quinolin-8-amine (NNTh) and ((imidazol-4-yl)methylene)quinolin-8-amine (NNImH) were prepared by metal-assisted condensation of 8-aminoquinoline and an ortho-substituted aldehydo- or keto- N-heterocycle. Preliminary reactivity studies involving the coordinated tridentate N-donors, the chloro-ligand and the M-CH3 bond were carried out, leading to the synthesis of several new complexes. During these studies, the formation of a novel five-coordinate Pt(II) carbonyl-complex was observed.
Coordination chemistry of platinum and palladium in the solid-state: Synthesis of imidazole and pyrazole complexes
Adams, Christopher J.,Haddow, Mairi F.,Hughes, Robert J.I.,Kurawa, Mukhtar A.,Orpen, A. Guy
, p. 3714 - 3724 (2010/06/17)
Solid-state reactions of palladium(ii) and platinum(ii) chloride complexes with imidazole (Him) and pyrazole (Hpz) or their hydrochloride salts are shown to produce metal complex salts and coordination compounds. Thus, K 2[MCl4] or MCl2 can be ground with imidazolium chloride ([H2im]Cl) to produce the salts [H2im] 2[MCl4] (M = Pd, 1; Pt, 5), which can then be dehydrochlorinated in the solid state to produce the coordination compounds trans-[PdCl2(Him)2] 3 or cis-[PtCl2(Him) 2] 6. The complex cis-[PdCl2(Him)2] 2 is produced when Pd(OAc)2 is ground with [H2im]Cl. Reaction of platinum chloride reagents with imidazole (Him) also produces cis-[PtCl 2(Him)2] 6, but reaction of imidazole with analogous palladium chloride reagents first produces [Pd(Him)4]Cl24 which then slowly converts to trans-[PdCl2(Him)2] 3. Grinding pyrazolium chloride with K2[MCl4] produces [H2pz]2[MCl4] (M = Pd, 7; Pt, 10), which may also be dehydrochlorinated in the solid state to produce the coordination compounds trans-[PdCl2(Hpz)2] 8 or cis-[PtCl 2(Hpz)2] 11. Grinding K2[PdCl4] or PdCl2 with pyrazole gives [Pd(Hpz)4]Cl29, which is then slowly converted into trans-[PdCl2(Hpz)2] 8. Grinding PtCl2 with Hpz generates [Pt(Hpz)4]Cl 212, but using K2PtCl4 as the metal source does not generate the same product. The single-crystal structures of 8, a new polymorph of 11 and [H2pz]2[PtCl6] ·2H2O (isolated as a decomposition product) are reported for the first time, and the structures of 5 and 10 have been solved ab ibitio from XRPD data.

Lyashchenko,Loginova,Lileev,Ivanova,Efimenko
, p. 633 - 639 (2010/05/11)
The MW-dielectric properties of aqueous solutions of K 2[PtCl4] (I) and K2[PdCl4] (II) were studied at 298 and 313 K in the frequency range (12-25 GHz) corresponding to the maximum dielectric constant dispersion

Paatashvili, T. V.,Golovaneva, I. F.,Muraveiskaya, A. Yu.,Tsivadze, A. Yu.,Shchelokov, R. N.
, p. 1290 - 1295 (2008/10/08)
The reactivity of cis- and trans-K2[Pt(Tau)2Cl2].nH2O [Tau = H2NC2H4SO3(1-); n = 5 (cis) and 1 (trans)] with respect to reagents of different natures are studied. The geometrical isomers of K2[Pt(Tau)2X2].nH2O (X = OH(1-), Cl(1-), Br(1-), I(1-), NCS(1-), and NO2(!-); n = 0 - 5), Pt(NH3)2(Tau)2], and K2[Pt(Tau)2(OH)2] are isolated. The [Pt(Tau)2Cl2].nH2O complex is obtained by an ion-exchange reaction. The composition and properties of the products isolated give evidence that the substitution reactions proceed with the conservation of the geometrical configuration of theinitial platinum taurine complexes. A comparative analysis of the elect ronic absorption spectra of the synthesised conmplexes is performed.
REACTION OF PLATINUM WITH CHLORINE IN A POTASSIUM CHLORIDE MELT.
Dubinin,Desyatnik,Yurkov,Romanova,Beshentseva
, p. 8 - 11 (2008/10/08)
In the paper results are presented of a study of the chemical forms in which platinum is found in the products of its chlorination in a KCl melt, and also data on the kinetics of this reaction. The temperature range studied was 800-1000 degree C. The kinetics of the process were studied by a gravimetric method. The results of chemical analysis indicated that the change in weight of the reaction mixture was proportional to the change in the concentration of platinum ions in the melt.

Fitch, John W.,Brown, Michael,Hall, Nancy H.,Mebe, Paul P.,Owens, Kevin A.,Roesch, Michael R.
, p. 201 - 208 (2007/10/02)
Allylsilane complexes of formula, K, and trans- where py = a pyridine base, have been prepared, isolated and hydrolyzed. In the cases studied the major product of the hydrolysis is an allyl-platinum(II) complex rather than propene.Propene complexes can be formed, however, if the hydrolysis is conducted at sufficiently low pH.
