131-73-7 Usage
Preparation
Dinitrodiphenylamine is treated with 98%?nitric acid. The starting material, dinitrodiphenylamine, is obtained from the reaction of?aniline, dinitrochlorobenzene, and soda ash.
Chemical Properties
Yellow solid.decomposes violently at higher temperatures. Insoluble in water and alcohol; soluble in alkalies and warm acetic or nitric acid.
Uses
Reagent for gravimetric determination of potassium.
Hazard
Explodes on shock or exposure to heat, dangerous.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 131-73-7 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 1,3 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 131-73:
(5*1)+(4*3)+(3*1)+(2*7)+(1*3)=37
37 % 10 = 7
So 131-73-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Diphenylamines containing nitro and trifluoromethylsulfonyl groups at the positions 2, 2', 4, 4', 6, and 6' were synthesized. The introduction of trifluoromethylsulfonyl groups into the diphenylamine derivatives led to a new analytical functional group.
