Extremely Selective and Mild Cleavage of β-Haloalkyl Groups by Cobalt(I)phthalocyanine Anion in Semisyntheses of β-Lactam Antibiotics
Eckert, Heiner
, p. 1715 - 1724 (2007/10/02)
Cleavage of β-haloalkyl groups can be performed extremely selectively by cobalt(I)phthalocyanine anion under very mild conditions, qualifying it best in the chemistry of highly sensitive β-lactam antibiotics. This is demonstrated in penicillin and cephalosporin semisyntheses.
Structural and Hydrogen Bonding Studies on β-Lactamase Inhibitor Penicillins by PMR Spectroscopy: Part I - Structures of Cloxacillin and Dicloxacillin Sulphoxides
Singh, C. B.,Nanda, R. K.
, p. 340 - 343 (2007/10/02)
Structural characterization of cloxacillin and dicloxacillin sulphoxides prepared in our laboratory indicates the S-configuration mainly as revealed by Nuclear Overhauser Enhancement (NOE) measurements, hydrogen bonding and aromatic solvent induced shift studies, etc.An interesting method of characterization of S-sulphoxides is based on the association of dimethyl sulphoxide with cloxacillin and dicloxacillin sulphoxides.
