The importance of removal of Toxic dyes from drinking water has received significant attention of researchers and decision makers across the globe. Adsorption potential of Rice husk (RH) and NaOH treated Rice husk (SHRH) for the removal of Reactive Yellow (RY) dye from aqueous solution by batch adsorption has been studied. The adsorbents were characterized by, XRD and SEM analysis. Effects of different parameters such as initial concentration of Reactive yellow dye, Adsorbent dose (treated and untreated), contact time, RY dye solution pH, and temperature were studied on adsorptive removal of RY dye. Langmuir, Freundlich, and Temkin isotherm models were plotted to study the equilibrium data. Langmuir model fitted well the data. kinetics followed pseudo second order. This study proved that, NaOH treated Rice husk can be used as an effective adsorbent for dye removal from aqueous solution.
