A method has been developed that will quantitatively analyze 0.1 μg demethylchlortetracycline (cas 106276-91-9)-HCl and tetracycline-HCl in bone. Interference from the bone itself prevents accurate measurements at lower levels. The procedure has been successfully used to analyze the tetracycline deposited in bones of white rats fed tetracycline at levels as low as 10 mg/kg.
